Digitalt riksdagstryck
Take a deep dive into 450 years of Swedish parliamentary work.
The National library's digital parliamentary prints contain more than three million documents from 1521 to 1970. Here you can follow the development of politics and see what issues were discussed in the Riksdag. The service also contains preparatory work for hundreds of laws that are still in force.
From Gustav Vasa to the unicameral parliament
The documents range from the time of Gustav Vasa to the introduction of the unicameral parliament in the early 1970s. The service contains parliamentary prints of three different types:
- Riksdagsakter, which are documents from early parliaments and parliament-like meetings. They date from 1521-1617 and 1719-1734
- Documents from the Riksdag of the Estates, i.e. the Riksdag consisting of the four estates of nobility, clergy, burghers and peasants. This material is from 1627-1866.
- Documents from the bicameral parliament that existed during the years 1867-1970.
How to find the service
The Riksdag prints are sorted by year, and you can use them to browse to the relevant document. Under each year you will find the title of one or more documents. If you want to read and search the text, download the document in PDF format. Each document is also available in XML format.
